This is where Our Mayor will post his "Mayor's Messages" each month for you to read. Further down the page you will find the older Archived Mayor's Messages available. Mayor Strickland hopes that you will be sure to check here each month for his new report that will keep you informed of the things he thinks are important for you to know about Liverpool and its citizens.
Mayor’s Letter May 2016
TOUR DE BRAZ BIKE RIDE: Thank you Liverpool Town Hall Committee for sponsoring the # 3 Rest Stop. Chairman, Jeanine Bergeron, reported that there were fewer riders this year due to the rainy weather, but those who rode were in really great spirits. They were very generous with their appreciation to those who were working. Thank you to Allison Loving, Belinda Basaldu, Marianne Stavinoha, Catherine Long, and the Liverpool Volunteer Fire Department who helped make this event a great success. Thank you to Kroger who donated the snacks for the riders, and to Tour De Braz for donating the surplus snacks, which went to the Liverpool Food Pantry. Oranges and bananas were taken to Kid’z Harbor. Thank you to all of your again for making our community proud.
CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE: The City wide garage sale is Saturday, May 7, 2016. You still have time to reserve your space at the pavilion or have your home address listed on the map. The maps will be given out Saturday morning at the pavilion at 6:30 AM. It is just $10.00, so call Catherine 281-581-2342. The deadline is Friday May 6, 2016 at noon to be listed on the map. We are really looking for a large turnout this year as it seems to grow every year. So, plan on bringing the whole family out for some really great buys and a lot of fun looking for treasurers.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Fire Department will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers at the pavilion during the City Wide Garage Sale. Stop by for lunch with them and help support them. The Fire Department will also be having an open house on May 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. They will have demonstrations and activities. There will be something for everyone to see or do. So come out and meet all of the volunteers that work so hard to keep our community safe, and to let them know how much they are appreciated.
FOOD PANTRY: With the continued support from all of you in the community we were able to assist 31 families in April. “Alone, we can do so little: Together, we can do so much.” Helen Keller
STEVENSON LITTLE LIBRARY #2: The little library is located at the City Hall. Please feel free to take a book or return a book you have already read. Children’s books and adults books are available.
ELECTIONS: Elections will be held Saturday May 7, 2016. There will be a voting pole located at City Hall on Saturday May 7, 2016. Come out and vote. You can vote and shop all at the same time.
